I'm currently building a replacement chain for a C5 I'm restoring and thought I'd share how I've gone about it.

Firstly, the original chain is 181 links 1/2" Pitch and 1/8" wide. A compatible BMX chain I found on ebay:

Each one is 112 links so I got 2, split one of them to make it 68 links and joined it with the other, full 112 links. I'm currently waiting for a half-link which will take it up to 181 links, images will follow.

Awesome Thanks Chas. Theres no rush for the spacer, I wont be putting the 2nd C5 back together any time soon.
