Hi there Chas, are you planning to market the gearbox insert with 4 cogs? I would certainly be interested if you are, how is the testing going with the front brake disc mod by the way?

Hi Kamztrad regarding the 4 holed insert the one that you can see was the first 4 holed one made but it wasn't quite right the spacing was off a fraction .So it turned out to be the last one but if I have another one made it will have to be tested and checked in situ and there could be a risk that the Gearbox outer case could be damaged ...But saying that I will give it some thought and let you know ...Bye Chas \:d/

kamztrad posted:

Thanks for that Chas, if you do want to take it any further I am happy to test the insert using my own outer casing, have to say your 3 cog insert has served me well on 24V and 36V operation, although I can appreciate that the 4 cog is more complex as the original design was only ever 3 cog and trying something different on this front always presents a greater risk.

Anyhow, if you have any more thoughts I'd be pleased to help,

Cheers

Hi Chas,

Thanks for posting all the pictures, very impressive  The large drive cog in the 2nd small picture, do you sell those?  Its well known the original plastic ones develop the hairline cracks, all of mine have these cracks and I think moving over to a metal one is the way to go before the cracks get too bad

SINCLAIR C5 CHAS posted:

Hi there DanI have had the large drive cog made up but with 72 teeth .The original one has 68 .So bye using the larger one would decrease the speed a little but you would gain some power (torque) If you are interested in one let me know and I will see how much they will cost ...

Hi Chas,

Thanks for the info.  For the larger metal cog, as it has more teeth, do you need a longer belt?

The small cogs look great, are you selling them? They'd be a great demand if you did.  Theres a set of 3 on ebay for £10
